Honey Doo Crafts – Congratulations

Honey Doo Crafts – Congratulations

On this card I sampled a product from one of my current favourites, Honey Doo Crafts!  The card did not go the way I intended!  It took me forever and I think my mistake was the ink pad I used.  More research needed next time Christine!

I started by using Versamark Watermark ink pad to stamp these beautiful Honey Doo Crafts Spring Flowers.  I then used Stampendous Details White embossing powder to give the lovely white outline.

This is the the bit that took me ages…the colouring in.  I used a Dovercraft Premium Pigment Ink Pad in white and some water to paint in the petals.  The idea was to be able to paint vibrant colours on top, but something went very wrong.  I used some Tim Holtz distress ink pads (Dusty Concord,  Peacock Feathers and Worn Lipstick) mixed with a little water. The final result looks good though – at least I think so.

I coloured the centre of the flowers with a yellow pen and then added Clear Wink of Stella over the top to add a little shimmer.

I then heat embossed the sentiment which came from a free ‘Everyday Sentiments’ stamp set from Making Cards using the same white embossing powder and layered in over the top of the back ground.  Adding additional layers would have been too much as the card was quite plain overall.  So I just backed the front image and sentiment straight onto the base card stock.
