Good Morning. Another little play today with one of the new Inkylicious stamp sets. Cute aren’t they?
I’m a big lover of cards that take minutes and although they may be simple, sometimes the CAS really are the best. I needed a quick card to put together for my MIL birthday. She’s a bit fan of African animals and I thought she’d love these. The stamp set is from Inkylicious and it’s called Life Life in Colour
It was so simple to make. I used Versafine Black Ink for the black stamping – this is a firm favourite of mine. It always stamps so well.
I wanted to mix the colours for the final zebra and the “colour” part of the sentiment, so I used Tim Holtz distress inks in Peacock Feathers and Dusty Concord. For the zebras I used my watercolour brush to paint it. For the sentiment I just inked half the stamp with each ink.
Finally, using my watercolour brush I flicked the ink over the whole image. I then backed the card stock on stash card stock that matched as closely as possible. The stamp is quite large so I made the card an 8 in x 8 in instead of usual smaller sizes.
Because I was stamping onto watercolour paper I was sure to use my Misti to get a solid print. This product completely changed my stamping – there are now others on the market, but this was my saviour. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve re-stamped an image over and over because the middle wouldn’t print nicely. Being able to reprint directly over the top again and again is fab!
